FBI and CISA Warn of Increased Hacking Attempts of Video Teleconferencing Applications… Steps You Can Take

CISA (The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency within the Department of Homeland Security) recently released an alert calling attention to FBI guidance on hacking attempts of video teleconferencing (VTC) applications. With the increased use of VTC for conducting remote business and learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a corresponding increase in cybercrime exploiting security gaps in these applications. The report also offers suggestions to help close these holes.
Remember to perform due diligence on any new applications, including their security features and settings. Stay safe and vigilant.
